In early 2012, Mehdi, the founder of Jardín de Persia in Mexico, purchased an undeveloped piece of land in Valle de Guadalupe, Baja California, with the goal of cultivating fruit trees.
During the first year, he cleared the land and collected thousands of river stones for future construction, as well as tilled the soil to prepare it for planting. He also acquired water rights and built a well for irrigation.
After planting more than 50 varieties of fruits native to Persia, he and his wife Dalia, a native of Ensenada, decided to propagate more pomegranate plants, eventually reaching around 1,000 in just a few years. Dalia and Mehdi chose to transform the garden into a venue for events and offer Persian and Mediterranean cuisine to visitors. By 2022, they had built 12 villa-style rooms to provide accommodations for tourists and guests.
